Environment Kirklees aims to be a one-stop shop for the environmental agenda in Kirklees – a diverse area including Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley and Holmfirth as well as the Colne, Holme and Calder rivers.
If you care about the environment and are keen to work with others locally in the Kirklees area we can put you in touch with organisations and projects already in operation.
If you want to find volunteer opportunities, or contact existing groups, use the link to Natural Kirklees – it coordinates a network of groups involved with wildlife and the natural environment.
If you want to start a new community project or environmental campaign, we can help by including details here and helping you connect with others in your field or locality.
Environment Kirklees Ltd is a volunteer-led delivery organisation. It manages the long-established Greenstreams programme and is developing several other projects – see Sustainable Kirklees.
Interested in what’s happening locally on renewable energy, sustainable transport, water management, local food, energy conservation and warm homes, waste and recycling and climate change? During 2017 we aim to provide links to local projects and groups working in these areas, as well as reports on featured projects. If you can help us to do this let us know.
