"Go to Town": May 10th, 11th and 12th - a project with Huddersfield Civic Society

Updated: Apr 30, 2019

A weekend of cleaning up areas in the town centre and the gateways is now on for May 10th, 11th and 12th. Volunteers are needed for a couple of hours on each morning (10.00 - 12.00). Click below for details of "Go To Town - the Big Clean-Up".

Huddersfield Civic Society and Greenstreams have combined forces to clean up sites in the town centre, at high visibility sites on the periphery of the centre and on the river corridor as it passes through the centre.

Recent work on the river corridor by Greenstreams volunteers at Snow Island and by River Holme Connections at Lockwood Spa forms part of this programme and the Clean Up will focus on the paths that connect these two sites to the centre.

Cleaned up sites often contribute to reductions in the incidence of litter and fly-tipping.
